Church-In-Action

Church In Action is the benevolent arm of the Hampton Roads Church whose goal is to continue to spread the gospel by meeting physical needs in the community.

 We currently have the following opportunities available for service:

1. Amerian Red Cross Disaster Relief Program (Southside & Peninsula)

Respond to families whose homes have been damaged by fires. Goal is to assist the Red Cross in meeting the needs of families by providing food, shelter, etc.

2. H.E.R Shelter (Portsmouth)

We provide movie nights, socials, and children's programs in this shelter for homeless/battered women and their children.

3. Sentara Nursing Center (Virginia Beach)

We get to serve seniors by playing Bingo, doing Bible Studies, and reading to them.

4. Food Bank (Southside & Peninsula)

There is an ongoing need for volunteers to sort food.

5. Church In Action Mentoring

Provide great relationships with children ages 5-10 with single mothers in the church.

6. Charlestown/Timberwood Community (Portsmouth & Newport News)

Charlestown has a need for tutoring.
