Statewide Service in Richmond
On Sunday, August 16th, the Virginia Churches of Christ held a Statewide Service at the Richmond Convention Center. The Hampton Roads, Northern Virginia, Potomac Valley, Blue Ridge, Richmond and Roanoke churches were all in attendance.
Mike Fontenot from Hampton Roads preached a sermon on spiritual blindess from John 9, and Kent and Heather McKean from Northern Virginia shared a moving communion message. It was a memorable service, and we are always deeply grateful for and encouraged by the times we spend with our brothers and sisters from all over the state.
Shulers’ Farewell Party
Join us immediately after the Sunday evening service (6pm) at the Jones’ house to bid a fond farewell to Steve, Annette, Carmen, Cesca and Simon Shuler. They have been wonderful, faithful members of the church since 2004 and are now moving to Austin, Texas, next week. They will be placing membership with the Austin Christian Church.
Most of the women will be returning from the statewide women’s retreat that afternoon, while the men will be worshiping at the Jones’ house at 5pm.
